-I'm back in my room now that my grandmother's better

-I moved my computer back

-tidied up the room a bit

-I NEED to sleep in a regular bed rather than on our couch since it was messing up my back

-My dad and step-mom are moving/have moved to Missourri

-however they still need to come back a few more times because of their jobs

-I got the cash my mom left me from my dad ($3500.00)

-spent $500 of it on groceries

-I changed some info on my bank account

-new email address

-REAL last name (my mom was married to another man when my dad 'seduced' her)

-I opened a savings account and put my 3 grand in there, along with my first tax rebate

-I forgot to do my taxes last year, so I got another tax rebate coming soon, so I'll add that in as well

-I got direct deposit at work, since I keep getting paydays off for some reason...

-since I get my paycheck a day early, I check my account each week and move a certain amount from checking into savings

-if my paycheck ends in $25.00 or above I move that amount into savings

-if it ends in less that $25.00, I still put $25.00 in savings

-I called my phone company and paid off the rest of my plan so now my phone bill is down from $145 each month to less than $80.00

-a few days before the next bill is due I'm going to sign up for automatic pay so it'll cost $10.00 less, thus saving more

-I got my first COVID shot at work

-paid off the hospital bills for the foods that got stuck in my throat

-come next month my cousin and I are gonna do some practice driving tests online

-I plan on taking the ACTUAL driving test for my permit towards the end of summer, then signing up for driving lessons

-I got 2 weeks paid vacation from work

-the last week of august (week of my Birthday)

-middle of October (week of Grandma's Birthday)

Just got back from the hospital.

Grandma made steaks last night and, me being me, I got too excited and took to big of bites. 2 big pieces were caught in my throat. I could still breathe but nothing else could go down. Anything I drank came right back up.

I had to go the hospital to get them removed.

I waited in a room for a bit, laying in bed and watching Star Wars episode V.

Later on I was told to change into a hospital robe. They rolled me to the pre-op room, then rolled me to another room. One minute I'm talking to the doctor, having devices stuck into me and told what's gonna happen and the next thing I know I'm waking up and feeling a bit groggy. Got a ride home, called my dad on my way home.

Once I got home, I ate some pita chips, drank some apple juice, then lied down for a bit.

Still a little weak, but will be better by tomorrow.

I'm just happy my job gives me medical insurance and I didn't have to pay exuberant amounts of money just to get 2 bites of steak removed from my throat.

Toothache gone!

3 min read
Had a massive toothach for the past few days caused by a sinus infection. I thought it was a cavity or wisdom tooth pain despite my grandmother telling me it was a sinus infection. Had I listened to her I wouldn't have had to waste $144 AND could've enjoyed nice family meals!

Since I'm over 18 I'm no longer part of my dads health/dental insurance plan, and my health/dental insurance from work won't kick in for another 4 months (you only get it if you've been there 6 months and longer.)

For 6 days my teeth have been hurting and the pain just got worse and worse. I thought I was senstive to cold so I get a new fan/heater combo device, cranked it to the highest heat setting and aimed it at my face while lying down. Didn't help. I try using a heating pad in a pillow while lying down. Didn't work. The pain got worse and worse, and I was sitting out family meals since I couldn't chew well.

So after scheduling an appointment and having x-rays they say my teeth are as healthy as can be.
(I can credit that to my dads genes; we're all short but have great health. Good blood pressure, strong teeth, no acid reflux, etc. I've even been told for an avid soda drinker I have the healthiest teeth my dentist has ever seen. Very healthy, just stained.)

The dentists helps me theorize that it was a sinus infection so I get some decongestents on my way home. Also, thinking I could still be senstive to cold air, unlike the rest of my family, I crank up the new personal fan/heater of mine to the highest heat setting (it only has 5 settings; high heat, low heat, high cool, low cool and off.) This device is so powerful that it heated half the house the other night! My grandmother comes in and is surprised I could handle so much heat, but that's just another thing that sets me and her son apart; he likes it cold, I like it hot!

Around 4:30 PM, when the pain usually started I didn't feel anything and knew my grandmother was right all along (she did a bit of a celebration dance when she heard.) I was able to enjoy steak and baked potatoes like the rest of the family and it was like heaven! The homemade marinade my grandmother puts on the steaks is so good that the steak could be well done and I'd still eat it!

Anyway, I'm following the instructions on the decongestants and am taking them every 4 hours. They don't make me drowsy or anything so I'll be able to take them at work without objections from a manager.

Now to get to bed. 2 days off in a row, a new patch to WoW, money still left in my account and NO TOOTHACHE is just what I needed!

got a new job at Safeway as a courtesy clerk (AKA starting position) The key part was saying I'm available every day. Had I said I wanted weekends off I would've been rejected.

So I just had 4.5 hours of training yesterday on their computer, with a 10 minute break halfway thru. There was a bit of a glitch, so 4 videos weren't played, but I can catch up on that another time. I have 4 more hours of training on Tuesday, and the best part is I'm getting PAID while being trained! My previous jobs didn't do that (heck, McDonalds wanted me to come in and train OFF the clock!) So I'll be getting to work on Wednesday thru Saturday, and many more afterwards!

My schedule is sporadic, but it seems I'll be getting into a 40 hour/full time work week soon, what with holidays coming up. Added onto this I'll also be joining a union,so I'll have to pay union fees (luckily not all at once) but I'll also be getting benefits!

We all gotta grow up soon, and it seems I am now. But, no matter what, I'm still gonna remain young at heart even if I'm dog tired. But earning $13+ an hour will make up for that!

And on my birthday, no less!

Dollar Tree had to let me go because of uneven tills. I'm sad about losing a great job, but I must continue on. Just because a job is over doesn't mean my life is. There are plenty of other places that I can apply to, and once I get access to an account my dad has set up for me, and sign up for driving lessons, my horizons will be much wider and not restricted by bus schedules.

I won't give up, I will continue on. I'm 26 and have plenty of time left and will find another job. Life goes on!
